Certifications and Achievements.
At Bell-Carter Foods, our commitment to quality products is demonstrated through our numerous quality, food safety, and supply chain certifications. As demonstrated by our 2008 C-TPAT certification and 2009 SQF Level 3 certification, we continuously strive to exceed industry standards and improve our processes, in order to offer the highest level of products and services to our customers.
SQF (Safe Quality Food)
In June 2009, Bell-Carter Foods became the only olive producer in the industry to be SQF 2000 Level 3 certified. The SQF (Safe Quality Food) Institute is a division of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI), established to administer the SQF Program, a leading global food safety and quality certification and management system. This certification further solidifies Bell-Carter Foods as the high quality producer and processor of olives to our valued customers and consumers.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization)
In 1999, the company became ISO 9001 certified, and has recently reached ISO 9001:2008 certification. The ISO certification represents a standard for quality systems management that comprises a variety of practices, including quality policy, quality manual, management commitment, document control, customer focus, resource management, supplier management, control of non-conforming product, process control, calibration, and continuous improvement. Bell-Carter Foods adheres to the ISO standard to ensure that we provide premium quality products that meet or exceed our customer's expectations and to continually improve the quality and safety of our processes and products.
C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism)
In May 2008, Bell-Carter Foods became the only olive producer in the industry to be C-TPAT certified with the successful validation by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. C-TPAT is a voluntary government-business initiative to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve overall international supply chain and U.S. border security. By participating in this first worldwide supply chain security initiative, Bell-Carter Foods has taken a strong stance to ensure a more secure and expeditious supply chain for our employees, suppliers, and customers.
